Recommended: Top of the Pops: The Lost Years Rediscovered 1964-1975 (Peter Checksfield)

#1,621: It was indeed a pleasure to have both author, music historian and photographer Peter Checksfield and The Move/ELO co-founder Bev Bevan kindly touch base with Yours Truly KJS/ELOBF earlier this week regarding the recent publication of Pete's tenth book entitled: "TOP OF THE POPS: The Lost Years Rediscovered 1964-1975" (ISBN 979-8485520502) on Monday 27th September.

You may recall that ELOBF also endorsed Pete's 2019 excellent "Look Wot They Dun: "The Ultimate Guide to UK Glam Rock on TV In The '70s" paperback earlier this year. His new book includes complete guides to all 619 episodes of Top Of The Pops between 1964 to 1975, hundreds of black & white screenshots of surviving footage (including ELO/The Move) as well as memories and anecdotes from over fifty artistes who performed on the show. Pete told me that readers will also find "an exclusive (and very funny) quote from Bev Bevan" within. Fans of The MoveELORoy Wood and Wizzard are very much likely to enjoy perusing the 656 pages on offer.

"TOP OF THE POPS: The Lost Years Rediscovered 1964-1975" by Peter Checksfield is available to preview/buy via these links thus:

  1. Eh, I listen to pop as exception, not the rule. ELO is one of such exception.
