Review: Things U Say To A Stranger EP (Baby Scream)

Over the last half a dozen years, it has been a real pleasure for Yours Truly KJS to feature relatively regularly the musical outpourings of my Argentinian friend Juan Pablo Mazzolo via his Power Pop vehicle Baby Scream here at elobf so it was good news to hear that a new release was imminent.

New EP "Things U Say To Strangers" arrived recently, a five song mini-album of more Mazzolo magic of just under fifteen minutes of running time, and it's another example of catchy tunes replete with heartfelt, personal lyrics and some very nice guitar licks. Aided and abetted in the studio by Alejando Bellini, Gonzalo Loppeato, Santio Ferrera and Nick Schinder, Baby Scream have developed a polished sound clearly influenced by the likes of Lennon, Bowie and Bolan, fine examples being "Fake It Till You Make It" and "Somebody Kill Me Now". This is an EP that you just keep on playing over and over whilst enjoying much. ★★
elo beatles forever (elobf) recommends the Things U Say To Strangers EP by Baby Scream to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO, Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, The Move, The Idle Race'Brum Beat'The Beatles and related artistes.

Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 23-Feb-2019
