Richard Tandy: Happy 70th Birthday!

#1,396: ELO keyboard maestro Richard Tandy joined fellow ELO Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Bev Bevan (b. 25th November 1944), Roy Wood (b. 8th November 1947) and Jeff Lynne (b. 30th December 1947) as he too entered The 70 Club today (Monday 26th March).

RT is a former member of The Uglys and Balls having also performed briefly with The Move before beginning his long association with both the Electric Light Orchestra and Jeff Lynne, featuring on every ELO studio album between "ELO II" (1973) and "Zoom" (2001) as well as playing live with ELO from their very first gigs up until the present day, not forgetting his musical partnerships with Dave Scott-Morgan and Trevor Burton.

Yours Truly KJS and ELO Beatles Forever (ELOBF) would therefore like to take the opportunity to both wish Richard a Very Happy 70th Birthday and also a speedy recovery from his illness as we look forward to seeing him return to the stage with Jeff Lynne's ELO for their forthcoming tour!

Until next "Time" in the ELO (and related) Universe ... KJS ... 26-March-2018
