Release Reminder: Electric Dreams Blu-ray Edition

#1,299: The Blu-Ray debut of the 1984 movie "Electric Dreams" is now just around the corner, some eight years after its release in DVD format back in April 2009. The film soundtrack, of course, featured two (2) solo Jeff Lynne tracks in "Video!" - the lead single (Virgin #VS695/VSY695) from the OST album (Virgin #V2318) reaching #87 in the Official UK Singles Chart during July of that year - and "Let It Run" - thought also at the time to be a strong candidate for a single but for the relatively modest success of the former - a song constructed in part from "Beatles Forever" - the only remaining unreleased track from the originally intended 2LP "Secret Messages" (#JETDP402) and of particular significance to Yours Truly KJS and elobeatlesforever (elobf).

The expanded Blu-ray edition -  released in the UK on Monday 7th August - comes in 1080p High Definition and includes interviews with Director Steve Barron, writer/co-producer Rusty Lemorande as well as stars Lenny von Dohlen and Virginia Madsen. The first 2,000 copies come in a limited edition premium spot gloss varnish slipcase with pre-orders now being taken by via this link thus:

"Electric Dreams" follows the debut of "Xanadu" on Blu-ray in July 2016 meaning that 1977's "Joyride" movie and its soundtrack featuring the Jeff Lynne penned ELO classics "Rockaria!", "Telephone Line", "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", "Tightrope", "Boy Blue" and "So Fine" as the only outstanding film of its time replete with ELO music still awaiting the Blu-ray treatment.
Until next "Time" in the ELO (and related) Universe ... KJS ... 26-July-2017
