ChartWatch: All Over The World Hits Top Spot!

#1,149: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The Official Chart Company duly confirmed this evening [Friday 29th July] that ELO's bestselling compilation "All Over The World" is now sitting proudly at the very top of the Official UK Top 100 Album Chart! AOTW is now ELO's third UK Number One album, just over eleven [11] years after its original release back in June 2005 and 117 weeks on the chart, having risen from #7 last week,

ELO now have three [3] chart topping albums in the UK to be proud of ...
I was a teenager between the ages of 13 and 14 when ELO were last at #1 in the UK so hopefully you'll excuse me if I'm ever so slightly excited about this news! "All Over The World" now joins "Discovery" [1979] and "Time" [1981] in ELO's exclusive #1 club.

Many congrats are extended to Jeff Lynne by Yours Truly KJS and elobeatlesforever (elobf) upon another amazing and well deserved achievement by the ELO maestro.

Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 29-July-2016

  1. Fantastic news. Jeff must be overwhelmed by this resurgence in his ELO music. Been a fan since '78 so I'm delighted. JL is my absolute musical hero.

  2. Jeff Lynne is the most underrated musical genius of my generation. Glad he is now receiving the recognition he deserves!
