Flaming Pie Serves Up Major Slice of Pure McCartney

#1,087: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! Paul McCartney announced Friday 1st April that his new career overview of personally selected post-Beatles solo,Wings and Firemen tracks entitled "Pure McCartney" will be released on Friday 10th June. The collection will be released in 2CD (39 trax), 4CD (67 trax), 4LP (41 trax) and digital formats with six of the eight songs co-produced by Jeff Lynne from 1997's "Flaming Pie" making the cut.

"The Song We Were Singing" and "The World Tonight" are included across the board with title track "Flaming Pie", "Souvenir", "Little Willow" and "Beautiful Night" to be found on the expanded editions (but not the 2CD issue). All six songs have been remastered for this release. Please note that "Heaven On A Sunday" and "Really Love You" - the other tracks co-produced by Jeff Lynne for the "Flaming Pie" album - are NOT included here.
The ELO maestro is, of course, noted for his work with George Harrison and Ringo Starr as well as being the co-producer of the Beatles Anthology singles "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love". His collaboration with Macca stemmed from those 'Threatles' sessions and is sometimes overshadowed by his work with George and Ringo. John Lennon also famously termed ELO as the "son of Beatles" in a 1974 NYC radio show. This release will no doubt be an attractive purchase for both casual and completist fans of The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Jeff Lynne and ELO.

4LP Vinyl Edition

Don't forget that the platinum certified ELO greatest hits compilation "All Over The World" will finally be released on 2LP vinyl too on Friday 10th June, making it a real double delight day for Fab Four and Electric Light Orchestra fans alike:
