ChartWatch: AITU Exits UK Top 100

#1,070: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The latest Official UK Albums Chart Top 100 announced yesterday saw "Alone In The Universe" by Jeff Lynne's ELO leave the Top 100 - for the "Time" being at least - after 15 weeks in the chart. We should expect a swift chart return for AITU with those UK, Irish and EU dates just a month or so away. Interestingly, having both entered the chart at #4, both 1983's "Secret Messages" and 2015's "Alone In The Universe" currently share the same length chart runs too [see above].
The Beatles' best-selling "1" compilation has also departed the Top 100 with ELO's 2005 platinum certified "All Over The World" greatest hits compilation dipping twenty four places from #62 to #86. Bryan Adams' successful appearance on ITV last weekend and new single "Do What You Gotta Do" helped the Canadian rocker to re-enter the chart at #44 with "Get Up" - produced, of course, by ELO maestro Jeff Lynne.

ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] recommends "Alone In The Universe" by Jeff Lynne's ELO and "Get Up" by Bryan Adams to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO, Roy Wood, The Move, The Idle Race, 'Brum Beat', The Beatles and related artistes.

Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 05-March-2016
