Looking for Atlantis: When Prefab Sprout Met ELO
Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! Yours Truly KJS mentioned the Sproutless project album "Jordan: Revisited" - a recording which pays tribute to the 1990 Prefab Sprout album "Jordan: The Comeback" - in my previous article [here] for ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF], a review of the impressive album "Summer" by Pop4. Scott McPherson and Andrea Perry from Pop4 were also key contributors to "Jordan: Revisited" and like myself, they love the music of Prefab Sprout as well as that of ELO. And nowhere is this more highlighted than with the re-imagining of the album opener "Looking For Atlantis" by producer Jono Grant, a pleasing version of the original where a touch of "Turn To Stone" and that certain ELO sound is merged with what, to this writer, remains a class Paddy McAloon song. Enjoy it here thus:
ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] recommends "Jordan: Revisited" by Sproutless to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO, Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, The Move, The Idle Race, 'Brum Beat', The Beatles and related artistes.
Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 06-Jan-2016
