ChartWatch: AITU Remains in Top 20

#1,041: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The latest Official UK Albums Chart Top 100 announced today sees "Alone In The Universe" by Jeff Lynne's ELO has dropped just one position from #16 to #17 in the making it eight weeks in the Top 20. The extent of the success of AITU was confirmed earlier this week with the announcement that it was the UK's 18th best selling album of 2015 despite only being released on Friday 13th November.

The Beatles' best-selling "1" compilation is down from #17 to #21 with ELO's "All Over The World" greatest hits dipping four places from #26 to #30. Bryan Adams' successful live New Year's Eve/Day set on BBC One has yielded superb results for the Canadian rocker too with "Get Up" - produced, of course, by Jeff Lynne - rising a amazing 61 places from #87 to #26 and his 1999 career compilation "The Best Of Me" re-entering the chart at #20.

ELO Beatles Forever (ELOBF) recommends "Alone In The Universe" by Jeff Lynne's ELO to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO, Roy Wood, The Move, 'Brum Beat', The Beatles and related artistes.

Until next "Time" in the ELO (and related) Universe ... KJS ... 08-Jan-2016
