ChartWatch: AITU Outside Top 20 in Bowie Afterglow

#1,044: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The latest Official UK Albums Chart announced today sees "Alone In The Universe" by Jeff Lynne's ELO down nine places from #17 to #26 making it 9 weeks in the Top 30 primarily due to the amazing feat of there being nineteen David Bowie albums in the Top 100 in the wake of his tragic death earlier this week. The "Starman" also has thirteen singles in the Official UK Singles Chart Top 100 this week with the British record buying public paying mass tribute to the late rock icon in their droves. The Beatles' best-selling "1" compilation is down from #21 to #36 with ELO's "All Over The World" greatest hits album falling thirteen places from #30 to #43. Meanwhile, Bryan Adams' latest album "Get Up" - produced, of course, by Jeff Lynne - has dropped fifty places from #26 to #76 with his 1999 career compilation "The Best Of Me" also slipping from #20 to #62.

ELO Beatles Forever (ELOBF) recommends "Alone In The Universe" by Jeff Lynne's ELO to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO, Roy Wood, The Move, 'Brum Beat', The Beatles and related artistes.

Until next "Time" in the ELO (and related) Universe ... KJS ... 15-Jan-2016
