Interview: Bev Bevan [Purple Haze Podcast]

#988: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! Nick Black is an Australian DJ who hosts a radio show in Melbourne entitled Purple Haze at 88.3 Southern FM. Nick contacted ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] just yesterday to highlight a recent telephone interview that he had conducted with Bev Bevan covering his career from his early days with Denny Laine & The Diplomats through to his time with The Move and ELO, right up to his involvement here in Yours Truly 2015 with Quill and Stand Up & Rock! alongside lifelong best pal Jasper Carrott.

Beginning with "Useless Information" and "Do Ya", this most enjoyable recorded interview is interspersed with plenty of familiar [and not so familiar] tracks and is a real treat to listen to. Bev is very complimentary of both Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne within the broadcast. The Move and ELO co-founder comes over as relaxed and he provides a wealth of recollections about his five decades in the business. The podcast can be accessed via this link thus:

ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] recommends The Purple Haze Archive @ 88.3 Southern FM to those enlightened folks [especially those Down Under] who enjoy the music of ELO, Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, The Move, The Idle Race, 'Brum Beat', The Beatles and related artistes.

Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 07-Oct-2015
