#865: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The short drive to witness the official launch of Alex Vann's "Drawn To The Beat" exhibition at The Plough in Shifnal on Tuesday 3rd March was more than worth it as the Wolverhampton artist and musician delivered an impressive set of his own impressive compositions capped by covers of one song by each of The Fab Four ~ with a little help from his friends Dan ClarkRich McMahon and Sam Hollyman.
Set list: "Brand New Day" ~ "Return To New Street" ~ "Mary" ~ "Let It Rain" ~ "Rich Without Money" ~ "Dissenters" ~ "This Is My Land/My Beautiful Broken Guitar" ~ "Blackbird" ~ "Here Comes The Sun" ~ "Don't Pass Me By" ~ "Imagine" ~ "I Will Be The Air"
This concert had a wonderful, liberating and relaxed feel about it and it whilst showcasing the substantial songwriting and performing talents of Alex Vann ~ as well as those of his cohorts Dan Clark and Rich McMahon. Coupled with his definitive and detailed art, the evening was a resounding success and it was much appreciated by those in the healthy attendance as well.
