|Sight 'n' Sound last night were [L-R]: Paul Trappett; Brian Eustace; Warren Shaw; Neil Craddock|
The band were missing Joe Bartnicki on stage [due to a recent wrist operation] on the night save for his joining the remaining quartet for a note perfect acapella rendition of Billy Joel's "The Longest Time". And make no mistake about it, this was an impressive and utterly professional show with Brian Eustace performing guitar heroics at times, particularly with "Hotel California". In an extended set of two halves, the band delivered the hits of Starship, REO Speedwagon, Chicago, Kansas, Queen, The Eagles, John Miles, The Doobie Brothers, Journey, Toto and, of course, the Electric Light Orchestra complete with a fantastic new medley of Four Seasons songs.
ELO medley comprising a nice acapella intro of "Wild West Hero" that lead into "Sweet Talkin' Woman" and a superb full length rendition of "Mr. Blue Sky". If nothing else, one of the highlights of 2014 has to be the return of Sight 'n' Sound with their longstanding live reputation remaining not only intact, but enhanced.
