#774: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The news [see links below] that Jeff Lynne is contributing to the new Take That album "III" should not come as a surprise to his fan base. The news serves only to confirm his friendship with Gary Barlow, who was a key contributor in persuading Jeff to headline last years BBC Children In Need Rocks! event and also supplied most of Jeff Lynne's ELO at last months Hyde Park concert [besides, of course, Richard Tandy] from his own and Take That's session/touring band members.
Jeff is very much behind the scenes in this his latest project and has certainly not replaced the departing Jason Orange but I, for one, will be interested to see what influence the ELO maestro has on the album when it is released on Monday 1st December. Lead single "These Days" [produced by Greg Kurstin] was premiered this morning on national radio and will be released a week earlier on Monday 24th November. Full details of Jeff's contribution to the LP - alongside co-producers Kurstin, John Shanks and Stuart Price - will be advised when known.
"III" tracks will be: "These Days"; "Let In The Sun"; "If You Want It"; "Lovelife"; "Portrait"; "Higher Than Higher"; "I Like It"; "Give You My Love"; "Freeze"; "Into The Wild"; "Flaws"; "Get Ready For It"; "Believe"*; "Amazing"*; "Do It All For Love"* [* denotes Deluxe Edition only]
