Caught Live (2): Sight 'n' Sound @ Wolverhampton 26/06/14

#727: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! As if their storming set at The Tackeroo a couple of weeks ago wasn't enough, Sight 'n' Sound arrived in delivered another sensational performance last night for the opening night of what is Wolverhampton's newest live music venue: The Diamond Live Band Suite - a truly stunning 800 capacity establishment located in the former Odeon cinema and, hopefully, destined to be the home of regular Thursday night shows by great bands.
Sight 'n' Sound - a band whose history includes the likes of Mike SheridanGeoff TurtonRick PriceKelly Groucutt and Roger 'Ollie' Spencer as former members - once again delivered the hits on the night of ELOREO Speedwagon, Billy Joel, Chicago, Starship, Queen, The Eagles, Orleans, Kansas, Journey, Toto and, of course, Richard Harris in front of the appreciative onlookers.
Sight 'n' Sound: "The Longest Time" showcased their legendary five part harmonies on the night ...
Their acapella cover of Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" was once again breathtaking, as were their versions of John Miles' "Music", The Eagles' "Desperado" and their ultra-impressive ELO medley comprising "Wild West Hero", "Sweet Talkin' Woman" and a marvellous "Mr. Blue Sky". It is indeed difficult to highlight specific songs when the entire performance was so good! It would be true to say that this band could easily be termed as a rediscovered local gem by this writer. Go see 'em folks!
