Recommended: The Concert in the Park (Louis Clark)

#669: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! It was nice to bump into Hooked On Classics and ELO strings maestro Lou Clark the other night after his successful gig with The Orchestra at The Plug in Sheffield. And, having also been in semi-regular contact with English Pops Orchestra (EPO) Musical Director Andy Smith, it prompteded me to remind visitors to ELO Beatles Forever (ELOBF) that a very special outdoor concert in Essex is on the horizon in June.

After a two year hiatus, The Concert In The Park is returning to to Priory Park in Southend-on-Sea on Saturday 28th June with the EPO, conducted by Louis Clark, performing a mixture of hits from the legendary Hooked On Classics albums as well as music from familiar film soundtracks, The Beatles plus, I'm told, a much loved if not familiar ELO track from "Concerto For A Rainy Day" and "Out Of The Blue" (that's a big hint folks!) arranged especially for the event followed by, naturally, a Last Night of the Proms finale coupled with spectacular fireworks! Please visit the official website for further details here:

A crowd of up to 5,000 is expected for the concert which will raise much needed funds for several charities including Southend Hospital. Tickets are priced from £22.50 each in advance and can be purchased via this link thus:

ELO Beatles Forever (ELOBF) recommends The Concert In The Park and The English Pops Orchestra conducted by Louis Clark to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO/Jeff LynneRoy WoodThe Move'Brum Beat'The Beatles and related artistes.

Until next "Time" in the ELO (and related) Universe ... KJS ... 02-March-2014
