  1. I think the car accident mostly did it, normal wear and tear does not cause "indescribable pain". It's good he is mostly fixed, I think he deserves at least 15 more years of quality life from the writing of this message.

    Quasi-related, but we must all spend more time hanging down. Children got the right idea to climb trees. Find the nearest branch, or man-made cable, and hang from it as often and as long as you can. Will uncompress your spine instantly.
