Caught Live: The Move & The Animals @ The Slade Rooms 20/11/10
#162: Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! The Animals and their friends The Move (featuring ELO's Bev Bevan and Trevor Burton et al) served up a great concert at The Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton city centre on the night of Saturday 20th November. Yours Truly KJS has to say that the performance of The Animals (fronted by Pete Barton with John E. Williamson and original members John Steel and Micky Gallagher) was excellent in terms of the tightness of the performance and the PA sound quality.
The raw sound of The Move came later as they flew through their back catalogue of hits and gave us a sample of those heady Marquee days. One truly has to marvel at the guitar prowess of Trevor Burton and his stage presence as well as the established supreme percussion work of one the worlds greatest drummers. It was also to be noted that when Trevor re-stated the bands frequent request to Roy Wood to rejoin his old band mates, he said that he felt that Roy was "softening".
It would indeed be great for Roy and Ace Kefford to come on aboard The Move again. You never know what is around the corner as life in the musical world is full of surprises. In summary, it was a great gig and if either or both groups come down your way, KJS/ELOBF recommends that you seize the chance to go see and hear them!
ELO Beatles Forever (ELOBF) recommends The Move ft. Bev Bevan and Trevor Burton to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO/Jeff Lynne, The Move, Roy Wood, The Idle Race, 'Brum Beat', The Beatles and related artistes.
Until next "Time" in the ELO (and related) Universe ... KJS ... 23-Nov-2010
